“Nomad Journey” — Mongolia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Will Be Presented At The Choijin Lama Museum

In anticipation of the UNCCD COP17 international conference, Choijin Lama Temple Museum will host daily performances by “Nomadic Dialects” to introduce Mongolia’s national intangible cultural heritage to international guests and tourists.

The performance provides an opportunity to see and hear representatives of Mongolian traditional musical instruments, long songs, khoeomii, epics, and biy bielge, all registered with UNESCO and national intangible cultural heritage, all in one place.

Heritage practitioners, including A. Baldandorj, the State Poet of the Republic of Mongolia and Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Mongolia, will present their works at the “Amar Amgalan Urgo”.

“Nomad Melodies” is not just a performance, but a cultural heritage awareness program that brings the music, oral traditions, movements, and skills inherited from Mongolia’s nomadic lifestyle directly to an international audience.

During COP17, foreign and domestic visitors to Mongolia will be able to explore the historical, religious, and artistic heritage of the Choijin Lama Temple Museum, as well as see representatives of Mongolia's living cultural heritage all in one place.

Dates: Held daily from August 17–20 and August 24–31, 2026.
